The Sixth Annual OWJEF Scholarship Banquet 2023

We are excited to announce that our sixth annual OWJEF Scholarship Banquet will be held at The Venue at Westwind to accommodate our growth!

Come and join us as we celebrate this year’s scholarship recipients and educators of the year. Featuring a 360 photo booth, a three-course dinner, a live jazz band, and our keynote speaker, Naccaman Williams, Ed.D, we promise this will be a night you won’t forget!

Director of Special Projects for the Walton Family Foundation
Naccaman Williams is director of Special Projects for the Walton Family Foundation, which includes over-seeing large grants and managing other grant making organizations. A former junior and senior high school mathematics teacher, Dr. Williams has served in several higher education roles, including director of the P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School at the University of Florida, and assistant dean and director of minority education services in the College of Education at the University of Arkansas. He served seven years on the Arkansas State Board of Education, including two years as chairman. He also served a four-year term on the Southern Regional Education Board. Dr. Williams has recently concluded five years on the Arkansas Charter School Authorizing Panel. He is currently serving on the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation board. Dr. Williams holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ouachita Baptist University and an Education Specialist degree and a doctorate in education administration from the University of Arkansas. He received the Martin Luther King, Jr. Faculty/Staff award in 1994 and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014 from the NWA MLK Council. He is a former infantry officer in the United States Army Reserve. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity incorporated. Dr. Williams is a deacon, trustee and teacher at the Historic St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is married to Angela Williams and they have two sons, Naccaman Williams II – 29, and Nathan Williams – 25.
