Zenobia Kelley has learned a lot about herself in her first semester of college, meeting new people and exploring new opportunities.
A first-year Art major at Howard University, she was accepted to the Chadwick A. Bosemen College of Fine Arts (COFA) Freshman Council. As a member of the council, she’s had the opportunity to connect with the fine arts freshman class by putting on various mental health events, hosting Arts Celebrations, connecting with other colleges’ Freshman Councils, and hosting a field trip to the National Museum of African American History & Culture.
In addition to the council, Zenobia has had to opportunity to work under the Howard University Student Association (HUSA) Senate as an intern for the Lavender Committee. In this role, she assists the committee chair in developing legislature and laws benefiting the LGBTQ+ community on campus.
Zenobia says, “Being a part of the COFA Freshman Council and HUSA Senate has been one of my favorite parts of the semester by far, along with meeting a few world-renowned artists. I am looking forward to what is next for me at Howard University!”
Zenobia is currently a freshman at Howard University majoring in Art, and concentrating in photography.
Keep up the good work, Zenobia!
