Segovia Lucas is going above and beyond in her research, and the scientific community is definitely taking notice.
She recently completed a summer research project at Massachusetts General Hospital which focused on using wastewater data and a mobile healthcare van to offer COVID-19 testing in medically underserved communities that had disproportionate rates of COVID-19 infections. This project was sponsored by the YES For CURE program and Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Cancer Center.
In September, Segovia was notified that she had been accepted to present a poster on her research at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference For Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS) in Anaheim, California during their November 2022 conference.
Segovia is currently a junior at Tufts University majoring in Latino health studies.
We’re so proud of you, Segovia!
