Segovia Lucas, OWJEF scholarship recipient c/o 2020, was recently offered a spot in a program funded by Dana-Farber/Harvard Medical School called YES for CURE (Young Empowered Scientists for ContinUed Research Engagement). 

The YES for CURE program aims to give underrepresented minorities in the STEM field an opportunity to obtain research training and experience, as well as to form connections with staff and other students who have passions for science. They ultimately want to narrow the opportunity gap for students of color trying to enter into the medical field.

The program is 2 1/2 years long with 2 summers of paid research under a cancer researcher.
