Rotary Club 99 Features OWJEF

Yesterday was a powerful reminder that legacy is not only something we remember, but something we continue.

OWJEF was honored to be the featured organization at the Rotary Club of Little Rock, Club 99 luncheon. As the largest Rotary club in Arkansas and a former home to Oscar Washington, Jr., this invitation was especially meaningful to us.

Presented by Mark Leverett, chairman of OWJEF, and moderated by Ebony Mitchell, advisory board member, the program celebrated Oscar’s lifelong commitment to education, mentorship, service, and community leadership. We did not simply want to tell the room about our mission. We wanted them to see the evidence of Oscar’s vision still at work.

Scholarship recipients Jordan Lambert, a member of the 2019 class and current Alumni Board Chair, and Ashlynn Billingsley, a member of the 2022 class and second-year law student, shared how OWJEF’s scholarships, Internship Initiative, and continued support helped shape their journeys. Their stories reflected the power of staying connected, giving back, and investing in the next generation.

We are incredibly grateful to Rotary Club of Little Rock for inviting us to share our story, celebrate Oscar’s remarkable legacy, and introduce more people to the life-changing work of OWJEF. His vision continues through every scholar empowered, every opportunity created, and every life transformed.
