Ashlyn Billingsley ’21 isn’t afraid of going the extra mile

Ashlyn Billingsley ’21 isn’t afraid of going the extra mile. Soon after receiving the OWJEF academic scholarship in 2021, Ashlyn committed to run cross country for Henderson State University. Since her time there, she’s dived headfirst into not only her studies and her sport, but also into other extracurriculars.

But Ashlyn isn’t letting her busy schedule interfere with her schoolwork. In fact, she’s a member of the HSU’s honors college and is involved in the Pre-Vet and Biology clubs as well. She most recently joined the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority on campus.

In reference to her college experience thus far, Ashlyn said:

“Trying to balance being a full-time student-athlete and working part-time, along with community service and social organizations can be rough, but it is so worth it!”

Ashlyn is currently a freshman at Henderson State University majoring in pre-veterinary studies.

Keep up the good work, Ashlyn!
